Driven by the specific conditions of the site, the architectural forms are derived from the existing topography and vegetation, the path of the sun, and the views to the south. Passive solar technology is utilized throughout the design; a wisteria covered linear trellis provides shade during the hot summer months while allowing the winter sunlight to naturally heat the slate floor enhancing the effects of the radiant heating coils that are installed throughout the house.
