The clients possessed a prominent private modern art collection with most items in scattered storage spaces. We worked with Steven Learner Studio to design a state of the art private museum and art library on their sprawling Connecticut country compound. The result is a stone and wood building using traditional materials with modern detailing that controls light, views, and scale to create open spaces for viewing art with carefully controlled natural light monitors and state of the art geo-thermal heating and cooling. The basement is also a conservation/storage facility featuring high security systems and thermal controls.
